About Us
The "Business and Environment" project is an effort of the Environmental Science and Policy Program that seeks to facilitate work at MSU that connects business and environment issues. As humanity faces increased environmental pressures, businesses are increasingly looked to for answers; they are asked to reduce negative environmental impacts and find innovative environmental solutions. Through research, teaching, and outreach, those at MSU are informing this societal effort.
Our project works to highlight and support the diverse action at MSU related to this area.

People on Campus Doing Business and Environment Work
Faculty across campus are doing work related to the intersection of business and the environment. The array of topics is as rich and varied as the academic units and individuals involved. We have grouped faculty interests into clusters: agricultural sustainability, biobased material and energy, biosystems engineering, business ethics, greening the built environment, corporate environmental management, ecosystem services, sustainable packaging, sustainable hospitality/tourism, and turfgrass stewardship. Two other cross-cutting interests are greening MSU itself (the university as a business) and engaging the public in environmental issues.
These clusters do not completely capture the work of the faculty listed -- or that occurring at MSU. We have been interviewing faculty about their work and expect these conversations to continue - Maya Fischhoff, who has been conducting the interviews, has an ever-expanding list of potential interviewees. The account, then represents but a tantalizing introduction to the wealth of work being conducted at MSU.
